OWC (Other World Computing), a zero-emission technology firm has announced a new Slim eSATA ExpressCard adapter, for $39.99. It is used to add a high speed (3.0GB/s) data transfer rate to ExpressCard/34 notebooks.

Apiotek releases two interesting new products.

The first is the USB to ExpressCard (34/54) adapter. It supports ExpressCards via USB2.0 channel (up to 480Mbps), can work with HSDPA/HSUPA modems, and does not require any drivers. It's available now through Amazon.com for only 9.99$.

Lenovo and RIM announced today a new ExpressCard module - the 'Lenovo Constant Connect'. This device will sync emails from your BlackBerry even if your laptop is completely turned off - using onboard memory (500MB) and a dedicated Bluetooth radio chip. It works with several email clients (such as Gmail, outlook, Exchange) but will only work on Lenovo Thinkpad laptops. 

The basic idea is that you will always have your latest email ready, even if you just opened your computer a few seconds ago. Personally I think it's a silly idea - I can wait another minute for my emails...

The card will be released in 2H 2009, and will cost 150$.

Wibu-Systems reports a significant increase in the demand for its ExpressCard® CmCard/E in the first six weeks of 2009. Software vendors use the CmCard/E card module that integrates CodeMeter® Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology under the ExpressCard form factor into PCs.

E-Films (from Australia) announces a new ExpressCard reader - the MxR. It holds SD/SDHC cards only.

The new card will retail for 35$.
