Imperx Incorporated, the world's leading supplier
of frame grabbers for laptops, builds on the success of its FrameLink
and VCE series of PCMCIA frame grabbers with the introduction of the
new FrameLink Express card. Users will substantially benefit from the
upgraded feature set and easy upgrade from FrameLink.
FrameLink Express is a dual Camera Link frame grabber specifically designed for ExpressCard/54 laptops. This professional, state-of-the-art video capture ExpressCard allows users to view and store real time megapixel video images from two Camera Link sources on their notebook computers.
The FrameLink Express features adjustable RGB gain and offset with auto-white balance. It also allows the user to select window sizes and offers built-in programmable CC pulse generators. Other features provided include Lookup Tables, Histograms, Terminal emulator, and a Hex Pixel dump, as well zooming/scaling capabilities. Measuring a compact 4.28 in. x 2.1 in. x 0.7 in. (108 x 54 x 18 mm), the FrameLink Express has a wide temperature range of 0°C to 65°C. The plug-and-play unit uses two mini-CL connectors and has hot insertion and removal for ease of use.
Providing the functionality, performance and versatility required by today's most demanding vision systems, FrameLink Express is a highly versatile frame grabber capable of acquiring single or multiple frames and standard AVI clips from two independent Camera Link Base cameras. The ExpressCard/54 interface (x1 lane PCIe) provides an impressive 2.5 Gbp/s bandwidth. The frame grabber features a flow-through pipelined architecture with an intelligent scatter/gather DMA engine providing minimal latency and over 200 Mbytes/s of throughput for fast, efficient use of the ExpressCard bandwidth.
A full-featured, intuitive, easy to use software suite, including drivers, application program and an SDK is provided with the card. The software allows for fast integration of the card into demanding machine vision environments.
The RoHS compliant FrameLink Express is ideal for integration into a variety of applications including silicon wafer and PCB inspection, machine vision and document scanning, ultrasound, X-ray, CT and MRI. It is also well suited for security applications including police in-car surveillance and biometric identification, as well as military uses including aerial mapping/survey, battlefield imaging and UAV and robotic vision.
